Have you tried wine from a can? Since London hit Tier 2 gathering in person has been pretty limited so I went walking with a friend on Hampstead Heath - the perfect opportunity to try some canned wine!

Started from a kitchen table by three young pals, Theo, Sam & Oli, The Copper Crew blends South African wine specifically to be canned and it works. The quality level massively exceeded my expectations. These wines would be ultimately drinkable in any setting, I just wish we’d had festivals & events this year so wine lovers would be able to enjoy a decent portable product! I tried all three of the current blends and it was really interesting to blind taste direct from the can.

The Copper Crew Rosé 2019
Western Cape
Grenache Noir/Mourvedre/Syrah/Grenache Blanc/Roussanne/Viognier/Durif
Inspired by Provençal rosé and you can tell, it’s dry, fruity but with a lovely pepperiness. I loved not having any preconceptions on the shade of pink, as you can’t see the colour from the can!

The Copper Crew Chenin Blanc 2019
Western Cape
This was my favourite of the three - super-citrusy and refreshing but with substance and a lovely lingering taste!

The Copper Crew Merlot 2018
Merlot / Cabernet Franc / Petit Verdot
Western Cape
Lots of cherry, blackberry and chocolate - delicious and perfect for warming autumn/winter walks!
